With a rich history in the FIM Six Days of Enduro (ISDE), including hosting and winning the first edition of the event held in Carlisle back in 1913, Great Britain will continue its long association with this competition by bringing three strong trophy teams to France next month. The ten riders included in the three teams, were carefully selected by former ISDE competitor and now GB team manager Daryl Bolter before being announced on the squad’s official social media channels.
*Update 12.08.2022: Unfortunately Brad Freeman has been forced to withdraw from this year’s ISDE in order to recover from a series of injuries.
Brad Freeman explained: “I’m in no shape right now to help the team to the result they deserve, so it’s time to accept it and let someone else take my place in the squad to get the best result possible.”
Jed Etchells will be stepping up from the Junior team to the Trophy team in Brad’s place. Aaron Gordon Enduro will be coming from the Midshires Club team to fill Jed’s place in the Junior team.
Team GB Manager Daryl Bolter said: “I’m very grateful to Jed and Aaron for stepping up and allowing Team GB to still enter three strong teams into the ISDE. We are all wishing Brad a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him riding again!”
The World Trophy team includes FIM World Champions and EnduroGP podium finishers, as Great Britain looks to take its first team gold medals in this class since 1953. Both the Junior and Women’s teams also look to have podium potential, with the latter hoping to improve on the silver medals they secured last year.
