For some, it is enough to simply experience what it is like to be a part of the FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE). For others, it is all about winning. For the USA’s Women’s World Trophy team leader Brandy Richards it is very much about the winning.

A massive thirty-one seconds faster than any other female competitor through the event’s opening cross test on day one, Richards made her intentions of finishing the event as the outright fastest female competitor crystal clear.

“I’d love to be the outright fastest women in the event, that’s my goal,” explained Brandy. “I’ve got close, been runner-up a few times, so to finally be the fastest would be great. The team result is the most important, but if I ride well, I help the team.”

Competing in her fourth ISDE, Richards certainly has the experience to win, something she’s enjoying putting to good use and helping her lesser experienced teammates Rachel Gutish and Britney Gallegos.

“I’m enjoying it. I’m kind of just helping Rachel and Britney out where I can and making sure they know the pace to ride at on the transfers. We were all on the same minute on day one, that was cool.”

Competing in her fourth ISDE, so far Brandy’s thoroughly enjoyed what she’s ridden in Italy. “There’s still a way to go but so far it’s been super fun, it’s not super, super technical and there’s been nothing that I’ve struggled on. I’d say it’s one of my favourite ISDE’s so far, right up there with Chile.”
