Brazil’s Bruno Crivilin – Honda is just one rider of the five hundred competitors from twenty-six nations competing in this week’s FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) in Portimao, Portugal.

For the twenty-two-year-old the race itself presents lots of opportunities. Getting selected to represent Brazil’s FIM Junior World Trophy team allows him to travel to countries he may never otherwise have experienced, while meeting like-minded Enduro people from all around the World.

And while racing for the pride of his nation takes centre stage for Bruno, it is the opportunity to compete against with the World’s elite Enduro riders that makes the FIM ISDE an honour to attend.

“I’ve done three FIM ISDEs and it’s a very important race for us,” tells Crivilin. “I feel like it’s the only Enduro in the World you can go to that has all the best riders from everywhere in the World competing at the same time.”

“For one week you race the best,” he continues. “You see exactly just how fast you are, and you come away from the race having learned a lot and gained a lot of experience.”

“I think that’s why it’s so important for us coming from Brazil and South America – it’s an opportunity that only comes once a year, if you’re lucky enough.”

With a taste of Portuguese soil in his mouth, lessons have already been learned in Portimao.

“I have learned that going slower can be faster!” he laughs. “Initially I was pushing too hard and crashed three or four times.”

“Then later I decided to ride slower, which worked in my favour. My test times were much better and I was happier with that.”
