The longest-running FIM off-road motorcycling competition, the FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) is as tough and physically demanding as they come. For six days straight both rider and machine are put through their paces. For the ninety-sixth edition of the FIM ISDE, the French region of Le Puy en Velay promises to uphold that honour.

Always a favourite nation for enduro among competitors, France knows how to put on a race of magnitude. Mixing some spectacular terrain with classic special tests throughout the weeklong event will see competitors from over thirty nations complete over thirteen hundred kilometres of riding. Each of the first five days are expected to take over seven hours to complete.

On days one and two, riders will tackle the same loop one. This course, covering a total distance of almost two hundred and twenty kilometres, including five special tests and in particular ST5 – La Bête du Gévaudan by AIROH, will travel west of Haute-Loire into the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. Long regarded as the area where enduro was born in France, it is sure to deliver some memorable moments for all.

Loop two will mark a new course for days three and four. With riders now beginning to feel the physical exertion of the FIM ISDE, this course of over two hundred and twenty kilometres in length will not ease their pain. The longest loop of the ninety-sixth edition FIM ISDE, the track will head directly south of the Haute-Loire into the Lozère region. With a new set of five special tests to contest, which include ST2 Volcan du Bonjour by MOTUL_and ST4 Rauret by Motul, the two enduro tests should provide a real sporting challenge.

For those waking up to start Day Five – loop three, another new adventure awaits. Heading north, this route offers some of the most difficult liaison sections of the week. Riding at altitudes upwards of fourteen hundred metres will also prove testing as will ST1 and ST5 Saint-Paulien by AIROH_plus ST4 Craponne sur Arzon by MOTUL. With almost two hundred kilometres to complete, weary competitors will welcome the final special test close to the paddock, knowing the end is virtually in sight

As per FIM ISDE tradition, the sixth and final day marks the final cross test. Located close to the paddock, a quick blast of head-to-head racing will soon be followed by many hours of celebrations for all concerned.

The FIM International Six Days of Enduro takes place in Le Puy-en-Velay, France from 29 August to 3 September.
