An prominent figure of French Enduro, Jean-Claude Charbonnier, Vice-President of the Puy-en-Velay Moto-Club, passed away at the age of 75.
His qualities as an organiser have led him to organise prestigious competitions not only at national, but also international level. He positioned himself as a pioneer by organising a World Championship in 1997 in Puy-en-Velay where he placed the parc fermé in the city centre, for the pleasure of spectators.
More recently, Jean-Claude was part of the organising committee of the most important enduro event in the world, the ISDE in Puy-en-Velay. He then proposed to organise this event by joining forces with the Moto-Clubs Lozérien, Haut Allier, Saugues and Emblavez, a winning collaboration given the success that was encountered.
The FIM extend their deepest condolences to the Jean-Claude’s family, the FFM and his many friends and colleagues.
