Thursday 26 June saw the 6DAYS® Italia 2025 Press Conference take place in Milan – Palazzo Lombardia, headquarters of the Lombardia Region.

During the press conference details of the course, participating teams and the sustainability plan amongst other information was shared with the assembled media, VIP guests and key stakeholders who were present.

The overriding message from all parties who spoke about this important forthcoming event for the region was that it is going to be a memorable edition, this was reinforced by the following comments.

Federica Picchi, Undersecretary for Sport and Youth, Lombardy Region stated: “Thanks to the Federation and to all those who, year after year, roll up their sleeves to organise this competition that the world admires. The course is both captivating and rich in natural beauty. The Lombardy Region will be making a significant contribution, justified by equally impressive numbers: over thirty nations, seven hundred athletes, and more than two hundred thousand spectators expected. We also extend our sincere thanks to the volunteers, who are the beating heart of all sporting activities in Lombardy. I would also like to thank the councillors and regional ministers in attendance.”

Paolo Franco, Regional Minister for Housing and Social Housing, Lombardy Region added: “Lombardy continues to make important strides in the world of sport, thanks in large part to the commitment of Undersecretary Picchi. Congratulations to her for the excellent work she is doing to secure the necessary resources for the region. The tourism promotion efforts by Bergamo are essential – today, one of the most powerful messages we can send is to deliver a postcard of Bergamo to the world. This is a region filled with passion and determination. Our support for the event will certainly not be lacking.”

Fabio Muner, FIM Marketing and Digital Director explained: “Since its inception in 1913, this is the first championship to have reached such a high number of editions. Bergamo has already hosted the Six Days twice – in 1968 and 1986 in San Pellegrino Terme. This time, the event will take place in the heart of the city, with the paddock set up at the fairgrounds. We expect seven hundred riders and one hundred and thirty accredited media representatives. The FIM is making a substantial investment in the event, including live broadcasting and broad media involvement to maximise its visibility.”

Pedro Mariano, FIM Race Director commented : “This marks the third edition to be held in the Bergamo area. This edition is already historic, with seven hundred riders competing and thirty three nations from six continents represented. Italy is among the favourites, alongside France, Spain, the United States, and Australia. Keep an eye on Sweden, which won the Junior Trophy last year – they are a very strong team and a top contender for the World Trophy too. We are seeing participation from one hundred and seventy eight moto club teams, with seventy-seven percent made up of amateurs and twenty-three percent professional riders competing in the three trophy categories, World, Junior and Women’s.”

Alfredo Sponga, Federal Councilor of the FMI, representing President Copioli, stated: “I bring greetings from the President, who is currently engaged with the CONI elections. I thank the FIM for placing its trust in the Italian motorcycle clubs, and in particular the Motoclub Bergamo, which had less than one year to prepare this event. The Italian team is ready to challenge the other nations. Best of luck to all the teams – may the best win.”

Giuliano Piccinini, President of Motoclub Bergamo, said: “I remember that only eight months ago, we were in Silleda, Spain, inspecting this event, and it seemed like just a dream. Now, with only two months to go, we are nearly there. We will be in the homeland of enduro, a welcoming place with beautiful territories, all waiting to be discovered. Bergamo is a jewel of the Lombardy Region, thanks to its valleys, lakes, and mountains. It was not easy to map out one thousand three hundred kilometers of routes. For one day of competition, we involve between thirty and thirty-five municipalities, and obtaining all the necessary permits is certainly not simple. Regarding the routes, the race will initially take place in Val Cavallina and Val Calepio, and from mid-event onward, it will shift to Val Seriana.”

Paolo Buratti, Race Director of the FMI, declared: “Since we started this marathon, we have been sleeping very little – and when we do, we dream of what we will be doing the next day. Passion is what drives us. The greatest challenge has been identifying a course that meets the technical needs of all seven hundred riders. The level of experience varies greatly, with many amateurs. We need to design a route that appeals to everyone, but it will undoubtedly be a great challenge.”

Valter Andreoli, Councilor of Motoclub Bergamo and Paddock Manager, concluded: “We expect a full booking across all accommodation facilities in the area, between staff and enthusiasts. We have estimated thirty thousand overnight stays, which represents significant value for the territory. Bergamo has the support of the Lombardy Region, which is an important factor for us. I would like to thank all the institutions – from the Municipality of Bergamo, including Mayor Elena Carnevali and Sports Councillor Marcella Messina, to the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters — with whom we are working closely to ensure the highest level of safety for the event.”

The gates of the Fiera di Bergamo Paddock will be open to welcome all teams on Monday, August 18, and spectators on Thursday, August 21, to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the event before the start of the ninety-ninth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations running from 24-29 August.
