Prime Stadium, the winner of the Sustainability Award 2024, have a proven track record of organising Enduro events under the KiSS* format across all championship events within the same year. With a strong vision for the future, sustainability is placed at the forefront of their initiatives. They collaborate closely with the FIM Enduro Commission and the FIM Sustainability Commission to implement measures that protect and restore the environment and positively impact the communities where enduro events are held.

Recently, the CID, in coordination with CEN, launched a guide titled “Guide for Sustainable Management of the FIM 6DAYS® and EnduroGP Events.” This guide, created by experts in Enduro and Sustainability, has been reviewed by specialised technical officials from the Enduro Commission. The guide will be distributed worldwide to enduro organisers.

The guide covers the necessity for organisers to prepare an Environmental Management Plan following the provisions of the FIM Environmental Code. It features a modern design that is easy to follow and includes visuals from actual events showcasing various scenarios and examples of best practices. Key areas covered include waste management, biodiversity protection, and sound control.

Our guide serves as a resource for organisers, not only for EnduroGP but also for organisers of national and local events too. We aim to encourage amateur clubs and all those involved in Enduro races or practices to adhere to these guidelines to help preserve the sport and the natural environment.

John Collins, CEN Director: “The Guide is a comprehensive and engaging document that will assist our organisers in managing events centred around sustainable practices. These efforts aim to make our sport more appealing to host cities and stakeholders. We have been working tirelessly to enhance the sustainability of this sport, and we are delighted to partner with organisations such as the Prime Stadium and the International Sustainability Commission.”

Kattia Juárez, CID Director: “For several years, we have been supporting the Enduro Commission and the FIM Promoter Prime Stadium by implementing our environmental protection regulations, educating our stewards, and creating solutions for the various situations we encounter in the field. Enduro is one of the disciplines that enjoys nature most, and we recognise the responsibility that comes with this. With the support of Enduro and Sustainability specialists, the guide we have developed serves as a resource for organisers, not only for EnduroGP orgnaisers, but also for organisers of national and local events too.. We aim to encourage amateur clubs and all those involved in Enduro races or practices to adhere to these guidelines to help preserve the sport and the natural environment.

Carla Alvarenga,
Managing Director of Prime Stadium: Our commitment to sustainability is robust. In less than three years, we have incorporated all the environmental provisions set out in the FIM Environmental Code. We have reorganised our operations and logistics to align with the Ride Green and KiSS Programmes. Our efforts in climate action have resulted in a plan for emissions reduction, local catering, and the establishment of 2.2 hectares of forest, which mitigates 301.8 tonnes of CO2 emissions and constitutes the Enduro Forest. Additionally, the entire championship has been organised under KiSS parameters.”

“We have appointed a Sustainability Manager to oversee these initiatives, amongst other actions. We are confident that by making sustainability the core of our operations, we can gain advantages with new host cities, obtain the necessary permissions, attract audiences, enhance our reputation, and ensure a bright future for Enduro. Thank you to the CID for preparing this guide. I’m sure we will continue adding value to our events.”
