Excitement for the ninety-ninth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations has reached fever pitch in Bergamo, Italy, with riders, teams and spectators anticipating an incredible week of Enduro ahead.
With the opening day of racing for the longest-running offroad motorcycle competition on the FIM calendar fast approaching on Sunday, 24 August, competitors are busy finishing their final preparations inside the Fiera di Bergamo race paddock.
In total, six-hundred-and-sixty competitors from thirty-three nations and two continental unions of FIM Europe and FIM Latin America have entered this year’s 6DAYS® Italia, where some incredible trails and riding in the Bergamo region await them.
Friday’s opening ceremony in Bergamo city centre will formally welcome all nations to Italy, but it is Sunday when this year’s 6DAYS® Italia begins to put everyone through their paces with the first day of racing.
Bergamo regarded as the ‘heart of Enduro’ in Italy
Long regarded as the heart of Enduro in Italy, Bergamo and its surrounding mountains will fully test both the world’s best Enduro riders competing for World Trophy honours and the wealth of amateur and hobby riders aiming to complete six demanding days of riding.
For the 6DAYS® Italia, three different courses will challenge riders. On Day One and Day Two, Loop One will take competitors to the east of Bergamo. Loop Two – 3 Valli – will only be ridden on Day Three and features a combination of Loop One and Loop Two.
Loop Three – Val Seriana – is considered the most demanding of courses in this year’s 6DAYS® Italia and will test everyone on Day Four and Day Five. The traditional Final Cross Test is set to bring this year’s event to a spectacular close on Day Six at the Covo MX Track. In total, competitors will cover up to thirteen-hundred kilometres of riding during the weeklong race.
Twenty nations vie for World Trophy honours
As the defending World Trophy champions, it is France who start as the nation everyone will be aiming to beat. With an unchanged line-up of Theo Espinasse (Sherco), Hugo Blanjoue (Honda), Leo Le Quere (TM MOTO) and Julien Roussaly (Sherco), they will hope to successfully defend their crown.
However, with twenty teams entered in the World Trophy category, competition is fierce. The United States and Spain both finished on the podium in 2024, with Spain still searching for their debut victory in the 6DAYS®. Australia, Belgium, Great Britain, Brazil, Sweden and Mexico are just some of the additional frontrunners in contention for a top position, but it is Italy who carry the weight of their nation into the 6DAYS® Italia. Italy last won the 6DAYS® in 2021 when it was held on home soil and are determined to top the podium again in 2025.
The Junior World Trophy category sees defending champions Sweden compete against seventeen teams including Italy, France, United States, Spain, Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand.
In the MOTOREX Women’s World Trophy category, the United States look to claim a hat trick of wins, while equalling Australia on the all-time win list with six victories apiece. With nine teams entered, they face stiff competition from Australia, Great Britain, France, Canada and Italy.
Amateurs line up for 6DAYS® Italia
With the World Trophy categories naturally grabbing the limelight in this year’s 6DAYS® Italia, it is the legions of amateur and hobby riders competing alongside the world’s best Enduro riders that makes the 6DAYS® the most important event on the FIM Enduro calendar. No less than five hundred riders are entered in the Club Team Award category, which also includes eight Veteran Club Team entries and two Women’s Club Team entries.
The 6DAYS® Italia takes place in Bergamo, Italy, from 24-29 August.
