The ninety-ninth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations was officially welcomed to Bergamo, Italy, with the opening ceremony on Friday evening.

Under a sea of national flags, all riders, teams and support personnel from the thirty-three nations entered in the 6DAYS® Italia enjoyed the parade through the streets of the city.

As host nation, Italy received the biggest cheer from spectators and onlookers, while defending champions France returned their winner’s trophy.

As the outright individual winner from the last four editions, Spain’s Josep Garcia (KTM) led his fellow compatriots onto the stage for what will be his tenth 6DAYS®. A proud moment for the Spaniard, who is targeting an historic fifth consecutive victory in 2025.

It’s always a nice feeling to return to the 6DAYS®,” tells Garcia. “It’s incredible to know that I have done nine editions already and finished each one.

This one is a little extra special. It’s the home race of my team, KTM Farioli. Bergamo is their hometown, and I’ve raced with them for ten years, so I’ve spent a lot of time here over the years.”

With all special tests walked, Garcia has liked what he has seen so far in Bergamo.

I really like the special tests this year,” he comments. “Of course, it’s an Italian race, but it is not super specific to the Italian style.

We have grass tests like we see in northern Spain or France. The Enduro Tests are nice too. Some already have a line cut in, so it will make them easier to follow straight away.”

Starting as a heavy favourite for the outright individual honours, victory in the 6DAYS® Italia would see him rewrite the record books with an unprecedented fifth consecutive win.

There is always pressure to win,” he says. “I have the best bike and the best team, but I’m experienced enough not to think about it too much.

To already win four in a row is something I’m proud of, and I know I can fight for five. I will give it my best to do so, but I’m relaxed and calm about it.”
